Retired SC Judge Pinaki Ghose may become first Lokpal of India

India may get its very first Lokpal on Monday (March 18). Retired Supreme Court Judge Pinaki Ghose is likely to take charge of the office of Lokpal. The official announcement may be made on Monday. Pinaki Ghose is also former Chief Justice of Andhra Pradesh.

Demand for a Lokpal is not new. In 2010, social activist Anna Hazare had sat on an indefinite fast for the demand.
