Rahul Gandhi seeks President Kovind's intervention in rising cases of atrocities against Dalits

A delegation of Opposition leaders led by Congress President Rahul Gandhi met President of India Ram Nath Kovind demanding that President should intervene in connection with rising atrocities against Dalits in the country.

The Opposition delegation submitted a memorandum seeking President of India's immediate intervention with regard to rising atrocities on 'Dalits' in the country and also the recent judgment of the Supreme Court diluting the provisions of arrest under the Scheduled Castes & Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act 1989.
