Punjab Congress spokesperson Pritpal Singh Baliawal quits party

In a major jerk to the Punjab Congress, party spokesperson Pritpal Singh Baliawal resigned on Monday.

In his resignation letter to party president Sonia Gandhi, he said that leadership of the state wing of the Congress had been put in the wrong hands. "As a spokesperson, it has become very hard to defend the nonsense and anti-party anti-government remarks along with his ties to Pakistan," Pritpal Singh Baliawal wrote, referring to Punjab Congress president Navjot Singh Sidhu.
