Joint statement on India-US trade deal in 4–5 days: Piyush Goyal, PM to visit Malaysia on Feb 7-8

A group of lawyers and women activists protested outside Supreme Court on Monday morning over the clean chit given to Chief Justice of India in a sexual harassment case. Later, the police detained the protesters and imposed Section 144 outside Supreme Court. Several activists and a group of lawyers were protesting against the procedure adopted by the three-judge panel in the case. While the journalists covering the protest have been released, over 30 women activists have been detained by the police at Mandir Marg Police Station, Delhi. Security outside the court has also been beefed up.
CJI Ranjan Gogoi was given a clean chit on Monday in the sexual harassment case. The three-judge bench said it did not find any substance in the allegations levelled by the former Supreme Court employee.
