Political war erupts over Shashi Tharoor's remarks on India's Covid fight

A political war has erupted between Congress and BJP after Shashi Tharoor criticised Modi govt's Covid fight while speaking at a virtual Lahore Think Fest. The BJP has hit out at Tharoor accusing him of "demeaning and discrediting" India and wondered if Rahul Gandhi wanted to contest elections in Pakistan.

Slamming Shashi Tharoor, BJP spokesperson Sambit Patra said that it was "unbelievable" that a senior Congress leader and an MP like Tharoor can make such comments against India at a Pakistani forum.

Sambit Patra further added, "He has demeaned India and projected the country in dim light."
