A political leader has been summoned to Delhi by the CBI as a witness in a stampede tragedy case that occurred in Karur, Tamil Nadu. This has drawn sharp criticism from a rival political party, which claims the move is 'sheer intimidation'. The party questions why the investigation is being conducted in Delhi when the incident, victims, and evidence are in Karur, arguing it goes against criminal jurisprudence. 'Asking everyone to come to Delhi is sheer intimidation,' the party stated. The party expressed concerns about how victims would travel to Delhi to depose if a trial were to happen there, labeling the probe as unfair and illegal. The summons for the party chief follows the questioning of other functionaries of his party.
