Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed a rally in West Bengal's Nadia district virtually after dense fog prevented his helicopter from landing. Paying tribute to Bankim Chandra Chattopadhyay, the Prime Minister stated that 'Vande Mataram was the mantra against the British' and launched a scathing attack on the Mamata Banerjee government. He alleged that the Trinamool Congress (TMC) opposes the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls to protect infiltrators, asserting that 'Bengalis must be free from the Jangal Raj'. The Prime Minister also expressed condolences for BJP workers who died in an accident while travelling to the rally venue.
