In a virtual address to a rally in Tahirpur, West Bengal, Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched a scathing attack on Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and the Trinamool Congress (TMC). Speaking after his helicopter failed to land due to poor visibility, PM Modi declared that the BJP's recent victory in Bihar has 'paved the way' for the NDA in Bengal's upcoming 2026 elections. He accused the TMC of opposing the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) drive to protect 'infiltrators' while blocking central development schemes. The Prime Minister stated: 'TMC wants to oppose Modi. Let it happen... But my brothers and sisters in Bengal, I am unable to understand why the development of West Bengal is being stopped.' He urged voters to 'dethrone' the TMC and elect a 'double-engine' government.
