PM Modi renames 3 Andaman and Nicobar islands

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday renamed three islands during his visit to Andaman and Nicobar Islands.

Ross Island, Neil Island and Havelock Island will now be called Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Island, Shaheed Dweep Island and Swaraj Dweep Island respectively, announced Modi.

"From today, the three islands in Andaman and Nicobar- Ross Island will be known with the name of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose Island, Neil Island as Shaheed Dweep and Havelock Island as Swaraj Dweep," he said.
