PM Modi Becomes First World Leader To Receive Ethiopia's Highest Honour 'Great Honour Nishan'

In a significant diplomatic achievement, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been conferred with the ‘Great Honour Nishan of Ethiopia’, the country's highest national award. PM Modi is the first international head of state to receive this prestigious honour, which was established in September 2024. Previously, Bill Gates was the only recipient of this award. During the ceremony in Addis Ababa, PM Modi dedicated the award to the people of India, stating, 'It is a great honour for me to be honoured by the ancient and prosperous culture of the world.' He further added, 'I accept this honour with full humility and gratitude from all Indians.' The award recognizes his contribution to strengthening India-Ethiopia relations and India's growing global stature.
