Union Minister Piyush Goyal has said job loss is a good sign for the Indian economy, and that the "youth of tomorrow" aren't looking to job seekers, but job creators.

His comment on job loss was a reference to a remark made by Bharti Enterprises Chairman Sunil Mittal on job cuts made by the top 200 companies.

For Congress Vice-President Rahul Gandhi, what Goyal said was "simply disrespectful."

"I am sad to see this type of statement," Rahul wrote on Twitter.
