People of Bengal are angry with Mamata Banerjee: Amit Shah

BJP had registered a sweep in almost ten districts North Bengal in the 2019 Lok Sabha election with a 40.5 per cent vote in its favour across the state.

However, the party was left it thirsty for seats in South Bengal as it lost all nine seats in the last phase of the polls after an incident in Kolkata, where the statue of Vidyasagar was damaged and smeared with black ink, leaving voters emotionally shocked.
