Pegasus snoopgate showdown peaks, TMC MP Santanu Sen suspended from Rajya Sabha; Day 2 of Kisan Sansad; more

As the Opposition parties cornered the Modi govt over the Pegasus snoopgate, TMC MP Santanu Sen was suspended from the Rajya Sabha for the remaining period of the monsoon session for snatching papers from Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw in the Rajya Sabha on Thursday.

While Congress leader Rahul Gandhi alleged that Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah used the Pegasus spyware against India, its institutions and its democracy, and "the only word for this is treason".

He demanded a Supreme Court monitored probe into the matter and also the home minister's resignation.
