Pakistan bans Jaish chief Masood Azhar

Pakistan has issued a Statutory Regulatory Order under UNSC Act 1948 to implement designation of Masood Azhar, banning him as a terrorist.

The notification read, “S.R.O.500 (I)/2019 dated 01 May 2019, under the United Nations Security Council vide its Resolutions Nos. 1267(1999), 1333 (2000), et al, has directed to apply travel restrictions, arms embargo and to freeze the funds and other financial resources of certain individuals and entities”

The list of designated entities has been updated with Masood Azhar added to that list and all concerned authorities directed to take action.
