'One Nation One Election' is the need of the hour: UP's Yogi Adityanath

 

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Friday said that 'One Nation, One Election' is the need of the hour, and that it will help in cutting down the election expenditure tremendously. "For a rich democracy, political stability is really important. And in a democratic set-up, with the stability of government, speedy governance is needed for development. With this point of view, 'one nation, one election' is a commendable attempt," he said. Yogi's statement came after the central government on Friday formed a committee headed by former President Ram Nath Kovind to explore the possibility of 'One Nation One Election' that aims for holding of general and state elections simultaneously.
