Pooja Kataria, who was on the hijacked IC 814 flight, said that one of the terrorists asked the passengers to convert to Islam.
In an exclusive interview with India Today TV, Pooja revisited the incidents that transpired on the flight when it was hijacked for seven days.
The hijack of the IC 814 flight, which took place on December 24, 1999, is back in the news after the release of the web-series "IC-814: The Kandahar Hijack", which released on Netflix recently.
The flight, IC 814, from Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu, Nepal, to Delhi, with 176 passengers, was hijacked on December 24, 1999, and was flown to multiple locations before landing in Kandahar in Afghanistan.
The siege ended seven days later when the Atal Bihari Vajpayee-led government partially conceded the demands of the hijackers, releasing three terrorists, Maulana Masood Azhar, Ahmed Omar Saeed Sheikh and Mushtaq Ahmed Zarga.
One passenger was killed by the terrorists during the hijack.
