NPR is first step to NRC, says Asaduddin Owaisi

AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi said National Population Register (NPR) is the first step to National Register of Citizens (NRC).

Owaisi said the 2018-19 annual report of the MHA suggested that NRC can be conducted on the basis of NPR data.

"National Population Register (NPR) is the first step towards the creation of the National Register of Indian Citizens (NRIC) under the provisions of the aforementioned Statute," Owaisi said while reading the MHA's report from Chapter 15.
