Newborn rescued from drain in Chennai

A newborn abandoned in a storm water drain was rescued by a woman in Chennai on Wednesday morning.

The woman, Geetha, a resident of Valasarawakam, Chennai heard wails of a baby from a storm water drain and immediately rescued the newborn with some help from onlookers.

The infant was found with umbilical cord tied his neck.

The heart-wrenching visuals of Geetha rescuing the infant have gone viral on social media.
