Navy veteran's daughter protests against assault on father by Shiv Sena workers

Daughter of retired Navy officer Madan Sharma on Saturday held a sit-in protest against the assault on her father allegedly by Shiv Sena workers. A Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) legislator in Maharashtra has accused the Shiv Sena workers of beating up a retired Navy officer for sharing a cartoon on CM Uddhav Thackeray. BJP MLA Atul Bhatkalkar has alleged that retired Navy officer Madan Sharma was beaten up by Sena workers for forwarding a cartoon that mocked CM Uddhav Thackeray. Six of the accused are currently out on bail.
