Hike in minimum support price (MSP) for rabi crops and regularisation of unauthorised colonies of Delhi are among the key decisions taken by the Narendra Modi cabinet today. The decisions were taken at a meeting of the Union cabinet in New Delhi today.
The decision to hike MSP for rabi crops, that is, wheat, gram, lentil and mustard has been taken days ahead of the arrival of fresh produce in the market. This move is likely to give a boost to the farmers, who have been reeling under pressure from agrarian crisis. The MSP for these crops have been raise from 50 per cent to 109 per cent.
