'Darr toh laga': Mayawati's party MP who tackled intruder in Lok Sabha

BSP MP Malook Nagar was amongst the several parliamentarians taking part in Lok Sabha proceedings when security was breached on Wednesday. He recalled how the entire sequence of events unfolded. “As Zero Hour was ending, a loud sound was heard as if someone fell. We looked back and saw a man trying to jump from the gallery, while another stood up and made a run towards Speaker's seat. Everyone was taken aback for a moment. There was chaos and several MPs rushed towards the door. Hanuman Beniwal and I ran towards the intruder and four or five other MPs also joined us in capturing the man. As we approached him, he took off his shoes and released coloured gas...We were afraid he could have weapon and so we decided to capture him first.”

“Truthfully, darr toh laga (I was scared at the moment). I was afraid what if the intruder had weapon...but fear motivated me to take action,” Nagar told India Today.
