Former Defence Minister and Goa CM Manohar Parrikar passes away

Former Defence Minister and Goa Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar passed away on Sunday (March 17). Parrikar (63) was suffering from serious pancreatic cancer.

Goa Legislative Assembly deputy speaker had indicated on Sunday morning that Parrikar's health was very critical and that discussions to replace him were on.

Manohar Parrikar was previously CM of Goa between 2000 and 2005 and 2012-14. In the year 2014, he became Defence Minister of the country.
