In a high-voltage political showdown in Kolkata, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee physically intervened during an Enforcement Directorate (ED) raid at the residence of Pratik Jain, head of the political consultancy group I-PAC. With the state assembly elections just two months away, the ED conducted simultaneous searches at the I-PAC office and Jainâs home in connection with an alleged coal scam and money laundering case. A furious Mamata Banerjee accused Union Home Minister Amit Shah of weaponising central agencies to steal her partyâs election strategy and candidate lists. Addressing the media, she remarked, âThe naughty Home Minister, who cannot protect the country, and he is taking away all my party documents.â The Chief Minister was seen leaving the premises with files she claimed were Trinamool Congress property. The BJP has condemned her actions as an unconstitutional obstruction of a legal investigation.
