Trinamool Congress leader Mahua Moitra and businessman Darshan Hiranandani have been named in a CBI FIR in connection with the cash-for-query case.
The FIR, registered on March 21, charges Moitra and Hiranandani with "criminal conspiracy, offences related to a public servant being bribed, offence relating to bribing of a public servant and abetment".
The 49-year-old Trinamool Congress leader, who was expelled from the Lok Sabha last year, has been accused of asking questions in the Lower House in exchange for cash and gifts from Hiranandani, specifically targeting industrialist Gautam Adani and Prime Minister Narendra Modi among others.
