Mahayuti sweeps Maharashtra local polls winning 207 bodies; MVA alliance shows cracks

Following a landslide victory for the Mahayuti alliance in Maharashtra's municipal council and nagar panchayat elections, a rift has emerged in the opposition Mahavikasagadi. The BJP-led alliance secured 207 out of 288 posts for president, while the MVA won only 44. In the aftermath, a Shiv Sena (UBT) spokesperson attacked the Congress, stating, 'The Congress Party is like a tourist in Mumbai. Come, roam, feed, put up a banner, promote and sit at home after losing the elections.' With all eyes now on the crucial upcoming BMC elections, the Congress has announced it will contest solo. Meanwhile, the victorious Mahayuti expressed confidence, with one leader stating the victory reflects trust in people-centric development.
