Maharashtra govt blocks CBI from probing cases in state without seeking its consent

In a big move, the Maharashtra government has withdrawn the general consent to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to probe cases in the state.

The agency will now have to approach the state government for permission to initiate the investigation on a case by case basis. However, this order won't have any impact on the ongoing investigations of CBI.

Meanwhile, BJP has alleged that this move by Uddhav government is aimed at covering up their scams, but Maharashtra govt has defended its decision.
