Tourists stranded in Himachal Pradesh as landslides, flash floods batter state

Several tourists were stranded in Himachal Pradesh as flash floods and landslides hit the state. Hotels and accommodations were limited, which led to tourists sleeping in their vehicles. The Manali-Chandigarh highway remained blocked for over 20 hours, but was later opened for commuters. 

A total of 301 roads were closed in the state following heavy rains, while 140 power transformers were disrupted. The alternative Mandi-Kullu route via Katola, was also blocked due to a landslide.
