Kerala government confirms 23-year-old infected by Nipah virus

The Kerala government has confirmed one case of Nipah virus in the state. A 23-year-old man from Kochi's Ernakulum has been confirmed to be infected with the Nipah virus.

Last year, in an outbreak in the state, Nipah virus had claimed 17 lives.

On Tuesday, Kerala Health Minister KK Shylaja, however, asked people to not panic as the government had started with all precautionary measures even before the case was confirmed.
