Kathua rape, murder serious crime: Rajnath Singh tells India Today

In an exclusive interview with India Today, Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh today said that the Narendra Modi Government is committed to women's safety.

"FIR must be registered if any complain comes up. I have spoken to Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister over Kathua rape case. The real culprits are those instigating young stone pelters. Modi Government's outreach will continue. We are committed to improving the situation in Jammu and Kashmir. Kathua rape and murder is a serious crime," said the Home Minister today.

Rajnath Singh also said that he met CM Mehbooba Mufti regarding the Kathua rape case. He said that he also has mobilised BJP leaders in Jammu and Kashmir to assist in the delivery of justice to the eight-year-old victim.
