Karnataka DGP Praveen Sood appointed new CBI Director for next 2 years

Karnataka Director General of Police Praveen Sood has been appointed as the next Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) Director for the next two years. The top cop's name was finalised by a high-level committee comprising the prime minister, the Chief Justice of India and the Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha.

A 1986-batch IPS officer from the Karnataka cadre, Praveen Sood will take over from current chief Subodh Kumar Jaiswal after the completion of his tenure.
