Karnataka Jail Busted: 30 Phones Seized in Bengaluru Jail After India Today Expose

In a major crackdown on prison security breaches, officials have seized 30 mobile phones from Bengaluru's Parappana Agrahara Central Prison, marking the 'largest recovery in the prison's history'. This late-night operation follows an earlier India Today expose on the 'Bengaluru Jail Gala', which revealed inmates enjoying lavish lifestyles with access to alcohol and technology. The raids are part of an intensified statewide search operation against contraband. Over the last 36 hours, officials have also recovered mobile phones and SIM cards from prisons in Kalaburagi (Kalburgi) and Shivamogga (Shivamoga), confirming that inmates continue to access state-of-the-art technology behind bars.
