Karnataka crisis: Speaker refuses to accept resignation of 8 out of 13 rebel MLAs

In a major twist, Karnataka Assembly Speaker KR Ramesh Kumar refused to accept eight out of the 13 resignations submitted to him by the rebel MLAs. He said the resignations are not in the "prescribed format".

Ramesh Kumar is reportedly furious that none of the rebel MLAs went to him personally to drop the resignations. "What is the need of a speaker if the work has to be done through post," an angered Ramesh Kumar said.
