JNU rolls back proposed hostel fee hike, proposes scheme for EWS students

The JNU Executive Committee has announced a rollback in the proposed hostel fees and other stipulations. It also proposed a scheme for students who come from the economically weaker sections.

The students were demanding the withdrawal of the draft hostel manual, in which service charges of Rs 1,700 were introduced and the one-time mess security fee, which is refundable, had been hiked from Rs 5,500 to Rs 12,000.
