J&K: PM Modi to chair meeting with Union Cabinet today, big decision likely

A big decision is expected over the prevailing Jammu and Kashmir turmoil as Narendra Modi is scheduled to chair a meeting with the Union Cabinet at 9:30 am today.

Tensions have only intensified in the strife-torn state ever since the administration called off the Amarnath Yatra in an unprecedented move and asked all tourists to leave the state immediately. Omar Abdullah, Mehbooba Mufti and Sajad Lone were also put under house arrest as the authorities imposed restrictions on the people's movements across Srinagar. Mobile and internet services have also been suspended in the Valley.
