In an exclusive interview with India Today, Union Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu addressed the ongoing Indigo crisis, terming the situation 'alarming'. Speaking to Amit Bhardwaj, Naidu asserted that 'financial implications or heads will be rolling at Indigo' for the chaos that began on December 3. The Minister confirmed that a four-member inquiry committee has been set up by the DGCA to investigate why the airline failed to prepare for new FDTL rules. Naidu emphasized that passenger relief is the priority, ordering Indigo to process refunds immediately and deliver delayed baggage to passengers' homes within 48 hours. He rejected claims that the Ministry succumbed to pressure by relaxing norms, stating the temporary abeyance until February 10 is solely to facilitate passenger travel during the peak winter season.
