Army officer succumbs to injuries in gunfight with Pakistani infiltrators in J&K

A gunfight erupted between Indian Army and Pakistani forces in Akhnoor sector, J&K, resulting in the martyrdom of an Army jawan. Heavily armed terrorists attempted to infiltrate across the LOC. In a separate encounter in Kishtwar district, security forces neutralized three terrorists, including Jaish commander Saifullah, who carried a Rs 5 lakh bounty. Pakistan's attempts to escalate tensions along the LOC and international border were thwarted by alert Indian troops.
