India-US impasse will be solved in coming weeks: Borge Brende on tariff row

In an exclusive interview with India Today TV, World Economic Forum President and CEO Borge Brende talked about the India-US trade deal, GST reforms, India-China ties, the Russia-Ukraine war and on a host of issues.

On the US tariff war, Borge Brende said, "I think the most pressing and the highest tariff now, is uncertainty. The highest tariff is uncertainty. The other tariffs we will deal with. But uncertainty will continue, and we have to be resilient." He then added, After my visit to Washington DC, where I spent time in the White House, but also in the Senate with senators, also with the trade representative of the US, my feeling is that the challenge and the impasse between India and the US I think will be solved in the coming weeks."
