India Today investigation exposes syndicate raj in Mamata's West Bengal

Prime Minister Narendra Modi in his recent visit to West Bengal had spoken about the existence of syndicate raj in the state. Without the involvement of the syndicate it was impossible for businessmen to start their businesses in the state.

It was found that any work that had to be done had to be routed through the syndicate allegedly run by the members of the ruling Trinamool Congress party. To find out the truth, India Today sent two reporters to conduct an investigation into the matter.

India Today which spoke extensively to the member of TMC found out that a sinister syndicate persists in the state. Members of the TMC were seen on camera saying that they needed to be paid to get work done in the state. In case a businessman failed to make the payment, the TMC leaders created hurdles by resorting to various tactics.
