In a major impact of India Today's investigation, Delhi Environment Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa has promised strict action against fake Pollution Under Control (PUC) certificate rackets. Reacting to the channel's reality check which exposed how PUC certificates were being issued without vehicle inspections, Sirsa stated, 'I thank Aaj Tak for running such a campaign... until we end these shortcomings... we cannot clean Delhi's environment.' The Minister confirmed that the Delhi Police would file FIRs against non-compliant PUC centres. The report also highlights the involvement of Transport Minister Pankaj Kumar Singh, who has directed the seizure of vehicles running on norms below BS-6.
