India Today exposes truth behind fake news on social media

The current spate of hate mongering has been coterminous to social media penetrating India. Population dependent on processed data were suddenly exposed to the instantness of raw information, and without a recourse to analysis this exposure had the potential to cause deep harm, inadvertently or sometimes purposefully.

Post truth, alternate facts, fake news -- all these are words that have entered in common usage. Everybody knows of their existence and yet every now and then, everyone - individually or collectively seem to drift away from reality.
