India opens Siachen area from Base to Kumar post for tourists

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Monday declared Siachen area from Base to Kumar post open for tourists from across the world.

Rajnath Singh tweeted, "The Siachen area is now open for tourists and tourism. From Siachen Base Camp to Kumar Post, the entire area has been opened for tourism purposes."

The defence minister is currently on a visit to Ladakh to inaugurate a strategic bridge in Eastern Ladakh which will cut travel time to the border with China.
