India-China standoff: Uttarakhand CM urges govt to build 3 airstrips in forward areas

Amid India-China standoff, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat has written a letter to Defence Minister Rajnath Singh urging the govt to build three airstrips in the forward areas of the state.

Meanwhile, there is total stalemate in Chinese pullback in the Pangong Tso Lake area and the Gogra Post along the LAC in Ladakh.

Days after Indian and Chinese military leaders agreed on a mutual phased de-escalation along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in eastern Ladakh, China has refused to pull back from the strategically significant Pangong Tso lake area and the Gogra Post.

India and China have been embroiled in a massive standoff at various points along the Line of Actual Control in eatern Ladakh since early May. The two sides have had several rounds of military and diplomatic talks but the standoff continues.
