India-China standoff: Road construction ramped up near LAC

China wants India to stop construction of the 255-km long Darbuk-Shyokh-Daulat Beg Oldie (DSDBO) all-weather road. However, India has conveyed to China that road construction activity in Ladakh is in Indian territory and will continue.

Additional labour is being rushed from Jharkhand to Udhampur for the journey to Ladakh to speed up the construction process.
