INDIA bloc's candidate B Sudershan Reddy appeals to MPs to consider his candidacy

In an exclusive interview with India Today, INDIA bloc’s candidate for Vice President, B Sudershan Reddy, outlined his position. He stated that the Vice President's oath is to defend and protect the constitution. Reddy contrasts his own background with that of the NDA candidate, CP Radhakrishnan, noting Radhakrishnan's association with the RSS. Defining his own ideology, Reddy said, "I am a liberal constitutional democrat." He appealed to all Members of Parliament, irrespective of party affiliations, to consider his candidacy, highlighting that there is no party whip in the Vice Presidential election. Reddy also referred to his work as the chairman of an expert group that analysed data from a caste survey in Telangana, which he called a milestone that revealed about 84 percent of the people belong to weaker sections, linking this to the formulation of policies for social justice.
