India achieves the target of doubling tigers population four years before deadline

Global Tigers Day gets us news to cheer for. From 1400 in 2006 to 2967 in 2019 - the tigers' numbers have doubled in the country. India has also achieved the target of doubling the population of wild tigers four years before the 2020 deadline claimed the government. This data released by the four yearly report of the all India Tiger estimation underlines that record.
