A 32-year-old man from Hyderabad was lynched on Friday in Karnataka's Bidar district over WhatsApp-driven rumours of child-lifting. Four others were also attacked but police managed to save them.
The incident took place at Murki village of Bidar district where the locals mistook them to be child-lifters. The deceased Mohammad Azam was a software engineer in Google.
The men, travelling in a red Maruti Swift, met with an accident after the locals chased them on motorcycles.
