Kerala: CPI(M) Leader AK Balan Claims UDF Will Hand Home Dept to Jamaat, Warns of Marad Riots

The violence in Manipur continued to cause havoc as a fresh round of crossfire erupted in the Churachandpur area on Sunday. The crossfiring between two groups in the area lasted for about 12 hours on Saturday. The firing was triggered again today at 9 am, and has been going on at intervals throughout the day. Numerous houses and buildings were set ablaze. Though the security in the area has been beefed up, the violence continues to intensify. Residents of the area claimed the violence erupted though there was complete silence and no activity in the area. The residents of Churachandpur, Torbung and some other vulnerable villages have been advised to evacuate the region.
