Heavy rains continue to lash Mumbai, schools and colleges shut

Heavy rains continued to disrupt normal life in Mumbai on Monday as the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) predicted 'extremely heavy rainfall' over the city and suburbs. According to IMD, the city will witness "continuous rain with heavy to very heavy falls at a few places and extremely heavy falls at one or two places very likely."

Maharashtra Education Minister has declared a holiday for the day in all schools and colleges of Mumbai Metropolitan Region. Mumbai Police have also issued an advisory to ride and drive with care.
