Another spell of heavy incessant rainfall brought the financial capital to a standstill leaving a few people dead and hundreds stranded. Water-logging in Mumbai disrupted train services and also caused heavy traffic jams making it difficult for the people to commute.
The IMD predicted very heavy rains for the next 48 hours in Mumbai, Thane and Palghar, and extremely heavy rainfall at isolated places, while the BMC has issued an advisory asking people not to venture into sea or in water-logged areas.
