Heavy rains bring respite to drought-hit Chennai, Met dept predicts more showers in next 6 days

Chennai, which has been battling drought this summer, got some relief when heavy rains lashed parts of the city today. Meanwhile, the Indian Meteorological Department predicted that rains will continue in parts of Chennai for next six days.

Rains were reported in Velacherry, Guindy, Semanchery, Porur and Pallavaram in South Chennai.
